There are two options from Curitiba.
             - By entering the BR 277 then PR 407 (to Pontal do Paraná) and then pick up the PR 412 to Pontal do Sul  and follow to the Trapiche (pier, port) to Ilha do Mel. Distance: 130kms - 01:40 hrs (Faster and safer option )
            - By the  Estrada da Graciosa (PR 410) entering BR 116 - (Sao Paulo - Curitiba) then passing Porto de Cima and Antonina. (Beautiful option to tour but much more time consuming).
